"Be strong now because things will get better. It might be stormy now, but it can’t rain forever."
This is the quote that comes to my mind when I think about coronavirus. It hit right after spring break and it was very hard not to be able to see the dancers face to face. The nine weeks of zoom that we did was a learning experience for us all. All of the kids did amazing and we are so proud of them. It felt like those nine weeks took forever and I know towards the end it felt like this was never going to end. You never realize how much you enjoy getting to see your dancers in person until you can’t anymore.
"It can’t rain forever" definitely was a light in my eyes once the kids got back into the studio to prepare for recital. Seeing the kids eyes light up made my heart smile. Watching each of them at recital made all of the struggles well worth it. All of the dancers did an awesome job at recital this year especially having to learn routines through zoom. My favorite part of recital this year was getting the chance to talk to the kids before and after each performance. During a normal recital we do not get to do this since we are running around like crazy. So it was great to be able to do that this year.
I want to give a big thank you to the parents for owing through this wild journey with us. We know it was not easy with work, home school and dance on zoom. It was a true blessing to be able to put recital on and to be able to have the kids and parents together. I can’t wait to see what next season brings with our amazing dance family.
